Day 1 – Arrival in Beijing (-/-/-)

Upon your arrival in Beijing Capital International Airport, please get your luggage back and then directly move to the exit, and our professional guide and experienced driver will be there waiting for you. Then transfer to hotel in Beijing, on the way, our guide will give you some introduction to Beijing. After checking in, you can have a rest or a free walk around the downtown area. By the way, before leaving the hotel, our guide will have a talk with you on the next day’s trip.



Day 2 – Travel in Beijing (B/L/-)

Today’s trip starts with Tiananmen Square, which is the heart of China and also the largest city square worldwide. Surrounded by many famous national architectures like the Great Hall of the People, National Museum of China and Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, in modern history of China, it is the site of many internationally famous events. By the way, it is the best place to take some photos to record your stay in Beijing.

Then directly move to Forbidden City from Tiananmen Square. This is the most famous building groups in traditional Chinese architectural style. Forbidden City, also known as Imperial Palace, used to be residence of 24 Emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is the site of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. Roaming around this palace complex, you can touch the history of China.

After lunch, we will travel to the Temple of Heaven, also one of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites in Beijing. It used to be the sacred site of Emperors to sacrifice the national ceremonies to the heaven and pray for the year’s harvest. The whole temple building group deserves your view.

After ending the travel in Temple of Heaven, a typical and widely famous Kung Fu Show arranged in the Red Theater. This is an encouragement story displaying the hard experience how a man to be a Kung Fu master from an innocent boy.



Day 3 – Travel in Beijing (B/L/-)

Today, we begin our trip with visiting to Badaling Great Wall. Great Wall boasting the 9th humankind’s miracle in the world and a site of World Cultural Heritage, used to be the military defense project to protect our homeland in ancient eras. Badaling section is the highlight of Great Wall in Beijing. Established in Ming Dynasty, Badaling Great Wall is the best preserved and rebuilt part, and also the earliest part opened to the tourists. The relevant service facilities and infrastructure are the best as well. There is also a themed museum named China Great Wall Museum exhibiting the history, function and culture of Great Wall in China.

Then you will be arranged to Jade Factory, which is a themed factory producing jade wares. Jade culture is a unique part of Chinese culture and expresses a tradition of China that jade is a sign of personal identity and social rank. Jade wares are time-honored and widely preferred by Chinese people, and wearing a jade-ware is a quite auspicious thing in China to avoid the misfortune and bad luck. Over there, you can touch Chinese Jade Culture.

After lunch, we will visit the Solemn Sacred Way and Ming Tombs.

Traditionally, there is a Sacred Way, also known as the Divine Avenue in the front of Imperial Mausoleum Area. It is an imperially exclusive way tending to the heaven and paradise. The Emperor in China is considered to be the Son of Heaven. He come to ruling the country from the heaven via this sacred way, and also returned to Heaven by this way when he completed his mission. The sacred way of Ming Tombs is the most famous in China, and the surroundings, architectural complex and the Fengshui design are all high valued.

The Ming Tomb also known as Thirteen Tombs of Ming Dynasty is a large mausoleum area written into the list of World Cultural Heritage Sites. It has 31 miles away from downtown Beijing. There are 13 Emperors of Ming Dynasty were buried here, and it is also the largest cultural and historic zone themed with Chinese imperial mausoleum culture and history. The most famous part is the tomb of Zhu Di, the founder of Capital Beijing.

After that, we will have a travel to The Bird’s Nest on the way back to downtown Beijing. It was worldwide known as the National Stadium for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Mainly jointly designed by Swiss architects Jacques Herzog & Pierre de Meuron and Chinese architect Li Xinggang, today, it has been a great landmark of Beijing and the sports center of China to hold some internationally important sport events.



Day 4 – Beijing-Xian Flight Transfer (B/L/-)

Today’s tour starts with Summer Palace. This is the largest and best-preserved classical imperial garden in the world, and in 1998 written into the list of World Cultural Heritage Sites. It is also famous as one of China’s four most classical gardens (the others are Chengde Summer Resort, Suzhou Humble Administrator’s Garden and Suzhou Lingering Garden). Summer Palace located in Haiding District. Learnt from Hangzhou West Lake and based on the natural sites like Kunming Lake and Wanshou Hill, this great garden complex shows the glory of imperial China. It mostly features the architectural styles of Jiangnan Classical Gardens, and today boasts China’s Imperial Gardens Museum.

And then, go to a Pearl Store to see how a pearl comes out. The freshwater pearls of China are quite famous in the world. This is a site to see how the pearls are produced in some latest techniques and some traditional ways. Over here, travelers also can learn to identify the fake pearls. Travelers will see how the seeds will be planted in the live mussel and learn how to spot the fake pearls. This is also a perfect opportunity to take some genuine pearls with a guarantee. Certainly, this is a freewill shopping without any external pressure.

Today you can have a rickshaw tour through the Hutong. You may have heard Hutong or seen it online, but never been to there. Today, you can have an exclusive sightseeing in Hutongs of Beijing, which is not available in other places. Hutong is a type of narrow streets or alleys, most commonly seen in Beijing. It is the traditional alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan, the traditional courtyard residences in Beijing. Since the mid-20th century, a number of Beijing hutongs were demolished for new roads and buildings. In 1990s, with many cultural scholars and local people’s protection, some hutongs have been designated as protected areas. Today, you can have a touch of the courtyard houses and the lifestyle of local people.

After lunch, you can take a flight to Xian. Upon your arrival, our guide of Xian will greet you at the airport and then transfer you to hotel in Xian.

Day 5 – Travel in Xian (B/L/D)
Accommodation - Bell Tower Hotel (4 Stars)

Boasting one of four world ancient capitals, Xian is the oldest capital city of China used to be the national center of Qin, Han and Tang Empires, all of which were the most powerful periods of China. It has a history similar to the history of China.

Today, your travel begin with a visit to Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, located lies 35 kilometers east of Xian and a site of World Cultural Heritage approved in 1987, is the most important archeological excavations of the 20th century. The museum is divided into three sections: No. 1 Pit, No. 2 Pit, and No. 3 Pit. Altogether over 7000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses, and even weapons have been unearthed from these pits.

And then, take a travel to Pottery & Terracotta Making Workshop near to Warriors and Horses Museum is professional workshop making terracotta and pottery artifacts. For themed souvenirs with terracotta warriors and horses, this is your first choice.

After lunch, we will visit a Buddhist site - Small Wild Goose Pagoda. It is as famous as the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda in Xian is a hot tourist site of China for its culture and history, especially the architectural highlights. The pagoda was built between 707 and 709.

Afterwards, head to Ancient City Wall. It is not only the most complete architecture well preserved of ancient Chinese burghs but also the largest in size and integral ancient military fort of the world. Taking a bicycle trip on the city wall is a great enjoyment.

At night, we will enjoy a special Dumpling Dinner when watching the fantastic Music and Dancing Show of Tang Dynasty. It is the most classic part of Xian trip to review the glory of Han and Tang Empires and the splendid taste of Chinese food in graceful performance.



Day 6 – Xian - Guilin Flight Transfer (B/L/-)

Today, we firstly travel to Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. This is a nationwide famous museum for history and culture in China as famous as Beijing Imperial Palace Museum, Shanghai Museum and Nanjing Museum. A large number of precious and valuable collections are reserved and displayed in museum. There are mostly are the national treasure. The whole visit will take approximately 1.5 hours. It is the best way to learn the past of Xian.

And then, have a free walk around the Muslim Street. This is the most famous ancient street of Xian highlighted with its delicious food and snacks.

Your lunch will be arranged in a local family of Xian. You can taste the real locally cooked food, and you also can learn something from folk family chefs. The hostess may share with you some ways of cooking a real Chinese dish, if you are interested in. What’s more, through this interaction, you can know more about Chinese people’s thinking and lifestyle.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Xianyang International Airport, and take a flight to Guilin. Our guide of Guilin will greet you at the airport, and then transfer you to your hotel in Guilin.

Day 7 – Guilin – Yangshuo by Cruise (B/L/-)
Accommodation - New Century Hotel (4 Stars)

Guilin is a top tourist destination in China famous for its fantastic natural landscape and the distinct local culture and lifestyle. For many years, Guilin never let travelers down and boasts one of China’s most popular tourist cities. The Li River is the soul of Guilin travel. It looks like a natural photos gallery with many picturesque and unique mountains on both sides.

The most welcomed way to travel in Guilin and Yangshuo is by a river cruise. It will be an unforgettable experience for you in China. Peasants catching fishes in their traditional way(generally relying on cormorants’ excellent show) on their bamboo rafts, children together swimming and skylarking on the riverside, local housewives washing clothes on the riversides, and singing and laughing…, all of these impressive scenes make your whole trip more memorable. We will take approximately 4 hours on the cruise before arriving in Yangshuo. Yangshuo actually is a small city nearby Guilin internationally famous for its perfect natural sceneries. Our guide will send you to the local hotel.

After checking in, we will have a short but amazing biking trip to visit around the rural area of Yangshuo. And you will walk into a painting created by the almighty nature. On the way, you will visit a local family to know the villagers’ daily life. If you do not want to take a cycling or not so good at riding, you can take a car as an alternative to view the countryside beauty.

By the way, if you quite care about the food on the cruise, we are sorry to tell you that the lunch offered by the cruise is not so good as imagined, and it hardly meet a higher standard as you enjoy in restaurants. Hence, we suggest you take a big breakfast in advance.



Day 8 – Yangshuo – Guilin by Vehicle (B/L/-)

Today, you will have half a day to visit the ancient town in Yangshuo by yourself. And then go back to Guilin.

After lunch, we will begin our natural sightseeing trip with a travel to Reed Flute Cave. Reed Flute Cave is a landmark and tourist attraction in Guilin. It is a natural limestone cave with multicolored lighting and has been one of Guilin’s most interesting attractions for over 1200 years.

And then we will take a visit to a local famous Sea Water Pearl Factory.

Afterwards, we will travel to the Seven Star Park, which is the most famous and largest park of Guilin, and also a highlight of tourist attractions in Guilin for its history and natural beauties. It is honorably named after seven high peaks in park, which look like the plough in the sky. It is a quintessential epitome of Guilin natural landscape.

Finally, we head to The Elephant Trunk Hill. Elephant Trunk Hill is a classic icon of Guilin tour, together with Li River. At the southern end of town, It is one of Guilin's best-known sights is Xiang Bi Shan (Elephant Trunk Hill) which stands next to the Li River and is a lump of rock with a large hole in it. The shape of the rock is just like a giant elephant drinking water from river with its trunk, hence the name. Standing atop the rock, you can see the beautiful panoramic view of the town.

Day 9 – Guilin – Chongqing Flight Transfer (B/L/-)

Today, we take a flight to Chongqing, one of four metropolitan cities under the direct management of the central government, and used to be the temporary capital of China in the period of anti-Japanese war. It is the largest city of southwest China and the center of Ba-Shu culture and history.

Our guide of Chongqing will greet you at the airport, and then pay a visit to the lovely pandas in Chongqing Zoo. (They may release you some secrets on how to be a Kung Fu master in dream. : ))

Then visit the General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum. Located in Stilwell's former residence and headquarters, the museum comprises a three-storied house furnished in 1940's style. In the courtyard there is an engraving of a speech by American President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The building was converted to a museum in 1991 by the Chongqing Municipal Government. During World War II, General Stilwell, known as Vinegar Joe, was the Allied Chief of Staff in the China Theater of Operations and Commander-in-Chief of the American Army in the China Burma India Theater.

After that, we take a visit to Ciqikou Ancient Town. Ciqikou is an ancient town in the Shapingba District, and originally called Longyinzhen was also known as Little Chongqing. According to an old Chinese proverb: One flagstone road, and one thousand years' Ciqikou, the name of the town can be traced back to porcelain production during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Formerly a busy port located at the lower reaches of the Jialing River, a thousand years after its foundation the town remains a symbol and microcosm of old Chongqing.

After ending the trip in Qiongqing, we will go to board President No.1 cruise, a deluxe one with five stars. And your Yangtze River cruise trip will start at 22:00.



Day 10 – Chongqing – Shibaozhai by Cruise (B/L/D)

Yangtze River known as the Mother River of China is the longest river in China and one of longest rivers in the world. The Yangtze River route created by the god is full of breathtaking sceneries and the miraculous gorges. The highlight of the whole trip is three gorges area.

This morning you will have a Safety, Orientation & River Briefing to learn the geography & river lore on board.

After lunch, we take a shore excursion to Shibaozhai, boasting one of the world’s eight top architectures. It was said to be originated from a multicolored stone left by Nv Wa, a legendary goddess in China creating the humankind, when she was repairing the sky with magic stones she refined. This is an ideal site to view the local people’s customs and daily life.

Around 20:00, the Captain's Welcome Party which presents Chinese folk dancing and music performances will invite all the guests to participate.



Day 11 – Badong (Shennong Stream) - Xiling Gorge – Sandouping (B/L/D)

We firstly travel through Qutang Gorge. Qutang Gorge is the shortest and grandest gorge among the Three Gorges. As soon as the roaring Yangtze River rushes into the gorge, it meets head-on with the imposing Kuimen Gate. Rocky mountains rise perpendicularly like walls on both sides of the river squeezing the broad river into a narrow ribbon threading its way in the gorge. Here the width of the river is reduced to 100-200 meters and the narrowest places are no more than a few dozen meters while the principal peaks on the banks are as high as 1,000-1,500 meters. The turbulent waters flowing in the deep gorge along a continuous line of peaks make a most magnificent picture. There are many historical sites hidden in Qutang Gorge Area.

Then, we pass the Wu Gorge to see its famous lofty and misty peaks. Noted for its deep and serene scenes, Wu Gorge is full of zigzag, weird peaks, rising mists and beautiful sights. The famous Twelve Peaks on both banks of the river are the most spectacular. These strange-looking peaks are like a fairy maid dancing. Wushan, Badong and Zigui are famous towns in the gorge. There are many famous historic sites too. The Daning River at the western entrance to Wu Gorge is flanked by continuous strange peaks, including Longmen, Bawu and Dicui, some of them rising into the clouds and presenting an unusual spectacle. The section of the river becomes known as the Minor Three Gorges.

You will disembark at Badong for an excursion to Shennong Stream. A pea-boat floating along the verdant Shennong Stream is scheduled for you, which can be quite a different experience. As the whole junk adventure will last about 3 to 4 hours, you will have lunch a little bit late in the early afternoon. We suggest you have a big breakfast today or bring some snacks with you. When you disembark for the excursion, you can also buy some fruits from the vendors along the way.

Afterwards, we go back and continue cruising to Xiling Gorge. This is the last part of the downstream cruise. Xiling Gorge is known for dangerous rapids and numerous shoals. These shoals were formed out of fallen and rock from banks, boulders and sands washed down from the upper reaches, veins protruding from the riverbanks, or reefs jutting out of the riverbed. At some points there are treacherous whirlpools and the waters are extraordinarily turbulent. Today it turns mild, due to the construction of Gezhou Dam and the rectification on the riverway.



Day 12 – Yichang – Shanghai Flight Transfer (B/L/-)

After breakfast, we will visit the Three Gorges Dam. The Three Gorges Dam is the worldwide largest power station. It is one of China’s engineering feats in the 20th century, and also is the world's largest and grandest water conservancy project. Many of its records break through the world record of water conservancy project. The Three Gorges Dam does well in controlling flooding from the upper reaches of Yangtze River.

After that, we will check out from the ship. Our local guide will greet you on board. Your lunch is arranged in Yichang.

After lunch, we will visit Yichang Museum, if possible.

And then, you are transferred to airport to take a flight to Shanghai. As you arrive in Shanghai, you will be greeted by our guide of Shanghai, and then transfer you to the hotel of Shanghai.

Day 13 – Travel in Shanghai (B/L/-)

Shanghai is the largest modern city of China, and also the most dynamic metropolis in East Asia for business and development. It is a sparkling star bringing Chinese people a hope for future. Today you will visit Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, Jiangnan Silk Shop and Workshop as well as the Bund.

Shanghai Museum is a large and comprehensive museum exhibiting Chinese ancient arts and culture, as famous as Beijing Imperial Palace, Shenyang Imperial Palace, Shaanxi History Museum and Nanjing Museum. Shanghai Museum is also the youngest but has the fastest development, thanks to the strongest financial support from Shanghai Municipal Government. A great many collections are directly bought overseas or from other museums in the world.

Yuyuan Garden is one of the quintessential representatives of Jiangnan Garden. Originally, Yuyuan garden was built in 1559 by Pan Yunduan, a local governor of Sichuan province in Ming Dynasty, to serve his father who was Pan En, a famous minister during the reign of Emperor Jiajing in Ming Dynasty. Yu in Chinese language is an auspicious character, and means comfort, satisfaction and pleasure, and it also the abbreviation of Henan province. To be the name of the garden was to show the filial love of making parents and the elder happy and pleasant.

Jiangnan Silk Shop and Workshop is to see how silk is produced from the cocoons of silk worms, and turned into the beautiful fabric we all know and love. Silk filled duvets are excellent value, and the showroom offers everything from small souvenirs to larger items. The beauty of real silk is that it's so light, and packs really easily.

The Bund is the cultural and historic landmark of modern Shanghai since it opened to be a trading port in the world. The Bund of Shanghai internationally famous as an outdoor architectural museum exhibiting the diverse styles of buildings of the west world.



Day 14 – Departure from Shanghai (B/-/-)
