Prince Bay Park(太子湾公园, Taiziwan Park) is the earliest park for wedding in Hangzhou. It is located on Nanshan Road and backs on Nanping Hill, roughly on the southwest side of West Lake. It is said that this site used to be the Cuanyuan Garden (攒园, the garden for temporarily keeping the coffins) of two princes of Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), therefore it gets this name. |
It takes a water channel of West Lake as the main line to build the bridges and related sites, and forms several attractions like Pipa Islet and Jade Garden. On the basis of the traditional gardening art of China, the whole park design also absorbs the western gardening art to express an aesthetic feature of nature and unrestraint. There are thousands of cherry trees sourcing from Tokyo, Japan. In mid March, it is in blooming summit, and the whole park is in a world of snow-white flowers. This park is better to take the wedding photos.
It is also the largest tulip plantation. The blooming period of tulip is the hottest period to visit to this park, and annually, the tulip festival is held here as well in late March and early April.
