| Located in Qingliang Peak National Reserve, Zhexi Grand Canyon (浙西大峡谷, West Zhejiang Grand Canyon, and the official site is http://www.xiagu.com.cn) is the best place to view the grand natural landscape and experience the amazing outdoor adventures. Due to its location of northwest of Zhejiang province, it is so named. The Grand Canyon has a total length of 80 kilometers with the best natural protection, and the species of animals and plants are highly valued and protected. Its magnificent view and the breathtaking layout make the site more attractive and popular, and it even boasts the Small Three Gorges.
It is comprised of three sections. The first section stretches from Longgang Dita(龙岗地塔) to Yutiao Baxian Tan (鱼跳八仙潭, fish jumping into eight immortals pond), with a total length of 18 kilometers. It is publicly known as Longjing Gorge(龙井峡), or Dragon Well Gorge. In this section, the steep peaks and the weird landscapes impress the tourists very much. The second stretches from Yutiao Huaguang Biao(鱼跳华光桥, fish jumping up to Huaguang Bridge) to Shangxi Taizi Jian (上溪太子尖, the prince peak of Shangxi), which is popularly known as Shangxi Gorge(上溪峡) with a total length of 26 kilometers, and it is the only source land of national treasure, Chicken Blood Stone (鸡血石). The third section is Zhemen Gorge(浙门峡, the Gorge of Zhejiang Province’s Gate literally translated) stretching from Taizi Jian to Maxiaoshi Shilong Village. The total length of this section is 30 kilometers, and the waterfalls and the natural stone gates are the highlights.
In China, it is considered as the No.1 Travel Gorge in East China with five advantages – the longest gorges area in East China, the best preserved natural reserve in East China, the best natural landscape of east China, the smallest population and the nearest site to metropolis. For outdoor activities and natural adventure, Zhexi Grand Canyon is the best choice.
