Located in Dujingsheng Silk-Weaving Mill on Fengqi Road, Hangzhou Dujingsheng Silk Brocade Museum is China’s first theme museum about silk brocade weaving, and also the symbolic site of Hangzhou silk history and culture. Originally, Du Jingsheng (1897-1943) was a name of man who was the founder of the Hangzhou Dujingsheng Silk-Weaving Mill, and a famous silk art master. With thousands of authentic objects and pictures, it professionally exhibits the history of more than 2000 years of China’s traditional silk brocade weaving, and unquestionably shows the formation and development of Dujingsheng Silk Weaving. The whole museum systematically demonstrates the process of silk weaving, and the display sections basically follow the process – Display Room, Raw Materials Preparation House, Silk Brocade Weaving Workshop and Production Display Hall.
Stop three – Shopping Tour at Hangzhou Chinese Silk City.
This is the final site to know how prosperous the silk marketing is in China, and also a famous and characteristic shopping site in Hangzhou. Hangzhou Chinese Silk City lies at the intersection of Tiyuchang Road and Fengqi Road. The whole marketing center is strongly characterized of traditional local architectural style in southeast China. It is made up of hundreds of independent or private silk shops, in which all varieties of silk products are available here. The prices are also ranged from a lower price to a higher price.
