Binjiang Avenue (滨江大道) is a riverside avenue on the east side of Huangpu River, Lujiazui, Pudong District. It is the best place to have a closer sight of the cityscape of Pudong New Area. As a sightseeing belt of east Huangpu River, it is widely accepted as the east Bund of Huanpu River. It was built in 1997 with a total length of 2,500 meters. Ranging from Dongtai Road to Dongchang Road along the Huanpu River, The Binjiang Avenue is opposite to the Bund of Puxi. Binjiang Avenue is a riverside sightseeing project highlighted with sightseeing, greening, transportation and service facilities. It is comprised of hydrophile platform, sloping fields greening, half-underground space and the sightseeing roads. The huge square fountains, the shipyard piers with a history over 70 years as well as the gigantic iron-made anchor distinguish itself from other typical tourist attractions in Shanghai. Along the avenue, travelers can view the Shanghai International Convention Center, Shangri-la Hotel, Oriental Cruise Wharf and the Oceanic Aquarium. At night, it is the great route to view the grand sights on both sides of the Huangpu River.
