Shanghai Jin Mao Tower Floor 88 Ticket Booking Service

Shanghai Jin Mao Tower (金茂大厦, literally translated to be the Tower of Gold Prosperity) located in Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, Pudong New Area, on the east side of Huangpu River is the third tallest buildings of China and the 8th tallest skyscrapers of the world at the time of my writing. With a total height of 420.5 meters, Jinmao Tower is the second tallest skyscraper in Shanghai at present. It was constructed in 1994 and completed in 1999. It has 93 floors (2 floors at the top, three stories underground, and the 88th floor is the tallest storey available to the travelers). As famous as Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and Shanghai Tower, Shanghai Jin Mao Tower is the important landmark architecture of Shanghai. Especially, Jin Mao Tower (right) and Shanghai World Financial Center look like twins. The tower is designed by Adrian D. Smith, a famous architect from USA. The skyscraper ingeniously combined the elements of traditional Chinese culture with the newest architectural styles of the time, which makes Jin Mao Tower one of the best-constructed buildings in China.

The Floor 88 Observation Deck

As one of the centerpieces of the Pudong skyline, the 88th floor of Jin Mao Tower, 341 meters from the ground, is the home to the skywalk and sightseeing floor, and the tallest and largest sightseeing hall, a 1,520 m2 indoor observation deck, in China and able to accommodate over a thousand visitors. It is luxuriously decorated with imported natural marbles. Looking far through the glass screen wall, the panoramic view of Shanghai city along the banks of Huangpu River is all taken in your eyes. Two elevators with a speed of 9.1meters/second are working to transport visitors in 45 seconds from the first basement to the sightseeing floor. Here, looking around and to the far distance, one can have a whole view of new Shanghai.

If you are not afraid of heights, going to the top of the Jin Mao Tower is an interesting experience. Viewing from the dizzying heights of the 88th floor in the evening, you will have an illusion that Shanghai is a glittering light ball. Jin Mao Tower is not only a great tourist attraction, but also a window through which people from other parts of the world may get a better understanding of Shanghai and Pudong New Area. Besides the Grand Hyatt and offices, luxury-brand shops, restaurants and relaxing coffee houses occupy the Jin Mao Tower. This superb building represents the new Shanghai: young, vibrant, and inspirational.

The second floor is the place where you are requested to buy the 110 Yuan entrance ticket from the ticketing office by the gate. By the gate, stands a statue of Jackie Chen, a Hong Kong actor, and, martial artist.

Jin Mao Tower can be conveniently accessed from either Puxi (the area west of the Hungpu River) by taking the tunnel (travel time is about two minutes) or the Hongqiao and Pudong International Airports (travel time is about 30 minutes) by car.

It is highly advisable to take the subway line 2 to start your high tower trip. Get off at the Lujiazui Station of Subway Line 2. After a 10-minute stroll, you will get to the entrance to the 88-storey building. Jin Mao Building has four entrances, two for the offices, one for the lobby, the last one for the entrance to the 88-floor observation – the skywalk.

The 88-storey observation deck is open from 8:30am to 10:00pm. It’s better to have the tower sightseeing tour on a bright clear day or in a fine evening. You will enjoy different views visiting Jin Mao Tower in the daytime or in the evening.
