Jingsi Garden of Suzhou (静思园, literally the Garden of Tranquil Contemplation) is located in the Wujiang District, Downtown Suzhou, and is a unique classical garden building complex with the strong feature of the regional artistic style of Jiangnan. The whole garden covers approximately 6,67 hectares. The inside buildings are small, exquisite and unconventional, and the iconic sites include the Crane-Pavilion Bridge, Little Hanging Rainbow, Tranquility-Foresight Hall, Bookroom of Heavenly Fragrance, Pangshan Humble Room, The inside lot of brick-carvings and miniascape. Similar to other gardens in Suzhou, it naturally shows a feeling of harmony among the bridges, corridors, stone hills, windows, walls, trees and waters. It is an integration of ancient architecture, garden, carvings, inscriptions, literature and elite feelings. The Qingyun Peak(庆云峰, literally The Peak of Auspicious Cloud) with a height of 9 meters and a weight of 136 tons is the most valued site in the garden. It is an essence of Lingbi Stone, one of four most artistic and valuable stones in China, and created a record of Guinness.|
Jingyuan Hall(静远堂), or Tranquility-Foresight Hall, is the largest and most beautiful building in the garden. It plays the role of the main hall of the families for guests and events. The three characters on the signboard were written by the former director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, Mr. Sun Yiqing. Below the signboard is The Chronicle of Jingsi Garden written by the owner, Mr. Chen Jingen. With the exquisite redwood furniture, this hall is magnificent and decent.
