Day1 – Arrival in Wuxi from Shanghai (-/L/-)

Upon your arrival in Wuxi railway station or bus station, our guide and driver will meet you there, and then transfer to your hotel. On the way, our guide will introduce you the basic information of Wuxi. After checking in and taking a short break, your trip in Wuxi begins. (Option – If agreed, you can be transferred from your hotel in Shanghai directly to Wuxi hotel, but the transfer service should be paid extra)
Your first visit to Liyuan Garden (蠡园) – Liyuan garden named after Fan Li, who was the most famous contributor of Yue State’s conquering Wu State. Fan Li retreated after the battle victory and led a reclusive life with Xi Shi, one of four most beautiful ladies in ancient China, in Wuli Lake. And then, he renamed the lake as Li Lake, and the Liyuan Garden was built on the side of Li Lake. It is one of the most classic tourist sites in Wuxi.
Then, we move to Plum Garden(梅园) – Plum Garden actually is a famous botanical garden for diversities of plums. Located on the side of Taihu Lake, its prominent time is in spring when more than 4, 000 plums blossoms. In history, Plum garden was built in 1912, and a private garden of Rong Family, a famous family in China, exactly belonged to two brothers, Rong Zongjing(荣宗敬) and Rong Desheng(荣德生, the father of Rong Yiren), two great founders of modern China’s national industry. They originally built this garden for a great mission – spreading the fragrance to the world (为天下布芳馨).
Afterwards, we head to Huishan Clay Figurine Museum(惠山泥人博物馆) – Huishan Clay Figurine originally appeared in South and North Dynasties, and up to today, it has a history over 1, 000 years. In Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), it got to the summit period. Today, it is one of most famous local products in Wuxi. China Huishan Clay Figuring Museum is established on the original site of Wuxi Huishan Clay Figuring Factory, and designed by a Japanese designer. The museum vividly shows the history, characteristics and culture of clay figurine craftsmanship.
Day2 – Departure from Wuxi to Shanghai (B/L/-)

Today, after breakfast, your trip begins with cruising on Taihu Lake(太湖) - Taihu Lake (Lake Tai) is one of five largest freshwater lakes throughout China, and the largest lake in east China. Currently, it is also the second largest freshwater in China. Situated in southern Jiangsu province and northern Zhejiang province, it is largely surrounded by several famous cities such as Suzhou, Wuxi, Huzhou and Changzhou, in Jiangsu province, exactly covering today’s four district of Suzhou - Wuzhong District, Wujiang District, Xiangcheng District and Huqiu District, two parts of Wuxi – Hubin District and Yixing City, and Wujin District of Changzhou. In tourism, Taihu Lake is one of most famous tourist destinations in east China.
Then, we visit Tortoise Head Garden(鼋头渚) - Founded in 1916, Tortoise Head Garden has become a famous tourist attraction of East China for vacations and sightseeing. Tortoise Head Garden as the highlights of Taihu Lake Scenic Area is a decumbent peninsula in the northwest bank of Taihu Lake. It got its name because of its intrusion into the lake like a tortoise-shape rock. It boasts the No.1 tourist site of Taihu Lake and the essence of Taihu Lake Travel. Traditionally, it is also a place of interest for scholars and elites’ gathering for literary inter-inspiration. There are several typical villas or mansions built by dignitaries and celebrities.
At last, we go to Jichang Garden(寄畅园) - Jichang garden is a classical garden in Wuxi. In east China, it is as famous as The Humble Administrator’s Garden and the typical representative of traditional gardens of China. In 1988, it was listed as a national key cultural site. It was firstly built in Yuan Dynasty, and in Ming Dynasty became the private villa of Qin Jin, the national defense minister at the time. The name of the garden borrowed a verse from Wang Xizhi,, exactly a poem named Da Xuchuan(答许椽) - "Getting the joy from benevolence and wisdom, and resort to the supremacy of mountains and waters to attain the pleasure."(取欢仁智乐,寄畅山水荫). Besides, it used to be the temporary palace of Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty, who liked it very much, and later on, ordered to build the Summer Palace of Beijing partially following the style of Jichang Garden. Today, People here not only appreciate the brilliant design of garden as well as several highlighted sites around it like the No.2 spring of the world(天下第二泉) and as well as the related erhu music named Er Quan Ying Yue(二泉映月) created by a blind man publicly known as Abing.
After that, we end our 2 days trip in Wuxi, and you could have several options to return to Shanghai –
(1) Take bullet train, fast train or bus to get back to Shanghai, which are regular, time-consuming and inconvenient.
(2) Take our private transfer service from Wuxi to Shanghai, which is easier, more comfortable and time-saving.
